Brandon Broiderers

On Saturday morning the 'Brandon Broiderers' displayed their work in Wolston Village Hall. They are working on a fantastic 'textile hanging' which, when completed, will be on permanent display in the Village Hall next to the Wolston hanging. As part of the project, a number of the team involved have worked with our Year 5 children over a number of months and the children have produced their own individual hangings. These were also displayed on Saturday morning. A big thank you to all the team involved, particularly the ladies led by Joy who have worked with Year 5.

Olympic Day

Today Wolston St Margaret's hosted their very own Olympic Day with the children taking part in a wide range of events - tennis, football, cheer leading, cup stacking, kwik cricket to name a few!

The weather was great and the children had great fun trying all the different activities. A HUGE THANK YOU to Miss Lampard for organising the day and also to all the staff, coaches and volunteers for all their hard work in making today so fantastic. There were some very weary children (and staff!) going home at the end of the day!

Sponsored Walk

Well done to all the children, parents and preschool brothers and sisters who took part in our Sponsored Walk today. The weather was kind and everyone walked for an hour. A special 'well done' to Year 6 who helped the younger children and then did their own walk!

Gifted and Talented Event

On Tuesday 18th June three of us in Year 6 organised a talent day. In the morning we started with a fantastic assembly showing the teachers' talents. Ben said, "It was interesting. I didn't know they had talent!"

The children were astounded by the secret guests: David Walliams Garside, Simon Cowell Martson and Amanda Holden Dudfield.

After the assembly, the children shared their talents in their classes followed by a vote for the person or group they wanted to go into the Live Final and represent their class. Next the acts worked their socks off rehearsing until they reached perfection!

After their first afternoon lesson, the whole school joined together again for the Grand Final. We were amazed by the talents that the pupils in our school have.

But there could only be one winner and they were the Reception dancers with Gangnam Style.

By Rosie, Millie and Emily.  Year 6.

Award Winning Writer

On Friday we were delighted to welcome two representatives from the Rotary Club to present one of our Year 5 children, Tom, with an award for his writing. Tom wrote a really thoughtful letter about peace for the Rotary Club's writing competition. His work really impressed the judges and he was not only awarded both local and regional prizes but was also the national runner up for his age group.

Well Done Tom!
