Wonderful baked creations began arriving in the hall from
eight o’clock on Friday morning and soon the tables were bulging with delicious
and delectable offerings from our Nursery children right through the school up
to Year 6. The creative use of chocolate, Smarties, liquorice, marshmallows,
icing and decorations was incredible.
We had gingerbread men with red noses,
caterpillars, zebra cakes, cup cakes, fairy cakes, fruit loaves, biscuits and
cookies to name but a few!
A very special ‘thank you’ to Wolston’s Women’s Institute
who formed our judging panel. The ladies were so overwhelmed with the range and
high standard of the baking that they were unable to choose one ‘Star Baker’
from each class and spent a long time judging all the entries. Eventually they
were able to narrow it down to two winners from each year group. All the
winners received a special Star Baker certificate and will be presented with
prizes on Monday.
Well done to everyone who took part and helped raise money
for a very worthy cause – your creativity and baking skills really impressed
me!
