What a Fantastic Day for a Wedding!

Earlier this afternoon, Miss Born and Kev married at St Margaret's Church. It was a beautiful day and Siobhan looked like a princess.
The School Choir were very excited as they waited for the start of the Service and couldn't wait to see the 'happy couple'. The children sang during the signing of the registers and kept the congregation entertained with their fabulous singing.

After photographs with the newly weds, the children were treated to ice creams - a great way to cool down on such a hot day!

Foundation Stage Frog Release

As part of their learning about 'Growing', our Foundation Stage children have been keenly watching a group of tadpoles as they change into frogs. The children have been very excited to see their legs grow and this week see some of them become 'proper frogs'. So this morning the frogs were released into their natural environment in the brook.

Dancing the Night Away!

The children had great fun at our school disco earlier this evening. Their dancing skills impressed us all and they seemed to have endless energy and enthusiasm!

A big thank you to Wendy and her small team of helpers and to the staff who braved the noise for a fantastic evening!

Basketball Tournament -

Saturday 18th May

Our basketball team took part in a tournament this afternoon at Harris High School. Everyone played brilliantly and the children worked really well as a team to support and encourage each other. They played 3 games, drawing 2 and losing 1.

Well done to everyone who took part!

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters who came along to support!

Fruity Friday

The children looked fantastic in their colourful 'fruity' clothes today and enjoyed taking part in lots of different fruity and healthy activities, including making fruity kebabs, skipping to fruity rhymes, working out fruity codes and making fruit smoothies.

Thank you to all the children and staff for a fantastic 'Fruity Friday'.

Year 6 SATs

Good luck to our Year 6 children who will be taking their SAT tests this week. The children have worked incredibly hard and show a great attitude to their learning.

It will be a hard week but we know you will be fantastic. Remember, you can do it!

Foundation Stage Farm Visit

On Thursday 9th May, Little Acorns and Sycamore classes visited Ashend Farm, near Tamworth. The journey was very exciting on a double decker bus and the children enjoyed looking out of the windows and spotting lots of things along the way.

When we got to the Farm, we started with a play in the play area - climbing, sliding, swinging and running.

Everyone went to the toilet and washed their hands and then we went into the Barn to have our picnic lunch.

After lunch we split into 2 groups to learn all about the farm animals. We saw goats, sheep, horses, cows, ducks and turkeys to name but a few! We fed lots of the animals with special food and even gave one of the kids a bottle of milk to drink. We carefully stroked and held some baby chicks and goslings. All the animals had names and we learnt lots about how they are looked after and what they like to eat. Towards the end all the children took part in an egg hunt and were able to take home their own chicken egg.

After going to the toilet and washing our hands again, we were ready to climb back on the bus to come back to School. Everyone had a great day and the children were fabulous, but a bit tired on the journey home!

Enjoying the Sunshine

The children have really enjoyed the warmer weather this week and have been making good use of the field and our new vegetable beds. Let's hope it stays this nice over the Bank Holiday Weekend!
