Foundation Stage Farm Visit
On Thursday 9th May, Little Acorns and Sycamore classes visited Ashend Farm, near Tamworth. The journey was very exciting on a double decker bus and the children enjoyed looking out of the windows and spotting lots of things along the way.
When we got to the Farm, we started with a play in the play area - climbing, sliding, swinging and running.
Everyone went to the toilet and washed their hands and then we went into the Barn to have our picnic lunch.
After lunch we split into 2 groups to learn all about the farm animals. We saw goats, sheep, horses, cows, ducks and turkeys to name but a few! We fed lots of the animals with special food and even gave one of the kids a bottle of milk to drink. We carefully stroked and held some baby chicks and goslings. All the animals had names and we learnt lots about how they are looked after and what they like to eat. Towards the end all the children took part in an egg hunt and were able to take home their own chicken egg.
After going to the toilet and washing our hands again, we were ready to climb back on the bus to come back to School. Everyone had a great day and the children were fabulous, but a bit tired on the journey home!
